Jan Hettinga lives in Snohomish, Washington, a community near Seattle. He is currently serving as Pastor of Leadership Development at Cascade Community Church in Monroe, WA. Prior to that, he served as Sr. Pastor at Northshore Baptist Church, (now called Northshore Community Church), from 1979 to 2008.
During his years of ministry at Northshore he led the church into a church planting movement.
The NorthSound Church Planting Network began in 1996. Twenty-two new churches have been started with several more about to launch.
Jan earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree in Transformational Leadership. He teaches Kingdom Leadership and Church Multiplication wherever and whenever God opens the doors. The focus of Jan’s teaching is the life-transforming power of the Kingdom Gospel of Jesus. Without surrender to the leadership of Jesus there can be no heart level change. Bowing and believing, also known as repentance and faith, are the two essentials of salvation.
The Kingdom message is the subject of Jan’s book, Follow Me: Experience the Loving Leadership of Jesus {NavPress,1996}. The Power of Choice is a pamphlet also written by Jan which explains the gospel Jesus and His first followers proclaimed. His latest book, Still Restless: Conversations That Open the Door to Peace {Kregel, 2015} was recently published and can be found on Amazon.com.
Jan and Scharme were married in 1965 and have three married children and 11 grandchildren. They enjoy serving the Lord, spending time with family and friends, reading, walking and exploring the world.
Jan –
Greetings from Omaha!
I am about to start on 3/4, a long-distance study with four men I have been discipling in one way or other for the past 30 years. I know how vital your book and the sessions I enjoyed with you years ago at Northshore were to my own spiritual development.
I understand a study guide is available for the new version of Follow Me (Safe King). Would you please send me 5 copies and bill me accordingly.
Thank you so much,
Pete
Greetings: Can I order a study guide for Safe King?
